A stunning true early Georgian era Stuart Crystal mourning slider.
Original order in 15 carat yellow gold. Slider bars and plain reverse. The front houses what looks to be AA initials over braided hair.
The mystique of the crystals is embedded in the history of the jewels that were made to commemorate the execution of King Charles 1 under Cromwell’s power. The crystals were made to memorialize the martyred Charles, who was of the house of Stuart. Populace wore rings, cufflinks, earrings and slides in sympathy of King Charles.
